INFORMATION for JV and VARSITY:

Be at the gym Tuesday, January 4th ONE HOUR prior to the game for warm-up and a brief practice. (JV: 4:15 and Varsity 6) Bring poms so that we can practice "Letters". Wear your polo outfits for Tuesday's game and uniforms for Thursday's game.
Also ... from here on out we will REQUIRE that each girl dress up for school on the last game of each week. FOR EXAMPLE ... if we have games Monday, Wednesday and Thursday we would dress up for school on Thursday. Dress up means NO JEANS!! You can wear nice pants, a skirt, a dress, etc. but NO JEANS, NO TENNIS SHOES!!
Reminder ... if you are wearing your "official SHS uniform" (shell and skirt) to school you must also wear the designated SHS cheer shoes. If you are wearing any other outfit such as the polo, jeans and jacket, jersey, etc. you may wear shoes of your own (Uggs, Converse, etc.).
REMINDER: Shaunna is officially the JV Coach so JV ... you can direct any questions to her. Of course you can still text me but Shaunna should be your 1st contact for JV cheer related issues and/or questions. :)
Hope you all have a great last week of Winter break. Keep practicing your cheers, dances and stretching. My goal is to continue "performing" aka dancing for half-times so JV practice your try-out dance and the Fall Assembly Dance so that we can perform these during our games. Varsity practice the 'Britney Spears dance' and the 'I Wear My Sunglasses At Night dance'.

Please make an effort to attend these games. I understand that this is during our Winter Break but the basketball players need our support. :)

CHEER SCHEDULE FOR DECEMBER 6-10th:

MONDAY:
Practice: JV 3-5 pm

JV: Practice on Monday and Tuesday will consist of a short stunting session from 3-3:30, Winter Wishes dance from 3:30-3:45, and then CHEERS, CHEERS, CHEERS!!!!! Be prepared! Go over your cheers, chants, etc. at home! Also ... ALL JV members are REQUIRED to attend at LEAST ONE Varsity game this week. I want you to observe the pace, rhythm, and teamwork that it takes to have a successful 'cheer' basketball game. In the future I ask that if possible you stay for all Varsity games to give your support and cheer along with the girls. You MUST be at the gym by 4:30 ... and from here on out if you are late you will receive consequences along with the ENTIRE squad ... so DON'T be LATE!!!!

Varsity: Practice on Monday and Tuesday will consist of CHEERS, CHEERS, CHEERS from 4-5 and then stunt from 4-4:20 and then Winter Wishes dance. On Tuesday we may lessen the cheer reviews and up the dance practice. Also ... all Varsity members are asked to attend JV games to show your support and guidance. If you are unable to attend the JV game you MUST be at the gym by 6:30 pm and again ... consequences will be given to the ENTIRE squad for every girl who is late!! Be responsible and plan ahead!!

JV: The Christmas party is Saturday, December 11th from 5-8 pm at Haley's house. If you need directions speak up. We will decide Monday who is bringing what food/drink items. Remember there is a gift exchange and the spending limit is $20 ... so NO MORE than $20 but it can be LESS than $20.

UPDATE:
If school is in session Wednesday, November 24 both JV and Varsity will have a brief practice from 11:15 to 1 pm to rehearse the Winter Wishes Assembly material. We will decide at that time whether or not we will be participating in the Macy's Day Parade. If you are NOT going to be in the parade you may leave at 1 pm. If we decide to march in the parade then we will join the band for practice until approximately 2 pm.

I realize that this is a hectic practice/game schedule for this week but once basketball begins we do NOT have much time for practices and with Winter Wishes right around the corner we must rehearse as often as we can. Remember these practices are MANDATORY. If you are sick, out of town or missing practices for ANY reason you must notify me 24 hours before or in WRITING.
